If you're learning to spin, or dye loose wool for spinning or felting, or even if you're an old hand at either one you may find yourself wanting an economical, scoured workhorse wool. Here it is, in a lovely natural light grey mix that contains light silver, greys and even some tans and browns. It will spin into a lovely heathery grey yarn, or would be nice for trying out dyeing on a non-white material. Pretty.
This 48s grade light grey Romney wool has a nice feel (not super-soft, but certainly not coarse) and a staple length of 4-5 inches. It's been scoured but not carded, so it's perfect for learning to card your own wool.
In the interest of full disclosure--this wool has some discolored bits and still contains some vegetable matter (see the darker bits in the photo?) that's easily removed in the carding process.
Your price is for 8 ounces of this versatile loose Romney wool.
This wool is brand new, pulled from the mill's bag when you order (so it's not handled by a bunch of folks by the time you get it), and has been stored in a clean, smoke-free environment.
