Remember the quote by Mark Twain, "The news of my death is greatly exaggerated"--well, similarly, the news of the death of novelty yarns. In my yarn shop, novelties have remained popular because lots of folks want the high-impact look without lots of sweating and slaving in the knitting. And after an exaggerated 'death,' even the powers that be are now acknowledging that novelty yarn is making a comeback.
Kollage Yarns is one of the reasons why. Kollage is a small American company with all the right stuff in novelties--great color, fine couture-quality fibers, and flair to spare!
Kollage Yarns' Captive Lash is one of these lovelies. Four different fibers spun together into one beautiful yarn, Captive Lash includes railroad style ribbon, long eyelash, and metallics. This muti-fiber, multi-texture phenomenon is any amazing way to make a garter-stitch scarf something to behold, or to add a bit of fancy to the plain knits in your life. On its own, or as a trim, it's lovely.
Captive Lash is a blend of silk, mohair, viscose and polyester. Each 100 yard skein has 70 grams. It knits at 17 sts/4 inches on US 10 needles, but will work at many gauges.
This listing is for Captive Lash in Ocean, a beautiful mix of denim-y blues.
Captive Lash retails for $25.00 and more in local yarn shops.
All yarn is brand new, with original tags and has been stored in a clean, smoke-free environment.
